Samsung RF4287 28 Cubic Foot French Door Refrigerator with 4 Doors and Integrated Water & Ice, Real Stainless Recent Reviews

piece of dried cow dung.We replaced our white gripping stove with a stainless gas stove which led to replacing the fridge, washer/dryer and dishwasher with stainless. My wife had re-painted the kitchen and it looked-for the updates anyhow. Went with Samsung on all at Lowes as they had a big sale on.Bought this reftigator in November even if they were not able to give up until Fedruary as the units were "out of stock". Looking back this may be a form of bait and batter. We still had our 14 year old GE buzz away so not a biggie. Above and additional than my wife loved this unit.Lowes delivered. Whoa unit was perfectly unlevel. Celled them back and had them come back out to level the unit and door. Leveled unit but it was unstable and guy seid he could not level doors!Unbendable to wait a modest while to see if unit might descend before to mission them again. Six weeks later woke up and the temp sight was periodic. Unplugged as the blue-collar states and while it came cack on the temp level was unstable. As a topic of fact it would run for a while and shut off before to both levels were at set point. Freezer would say -4 and fridge 57. Unplug to reset and the freezer would be 38 and fridge 57. This would flip flop. Everlastingly went to Lowes and they gave me a digit to call.Called the digit and the first thing the self did was to try and upsell an total warranty claiming ours ongoing the day we bought it. Declined and they everlastingly set up a benefit call for THREE days later.Called Samsung and they straightned out warranty but could not get anyone out faster and as a topic of fact used the same broadcast as Lowes who are in Fort Lauderdale FL while we are in North Alabama. Boy marvel how long a stay on up call takes as it is a 16 hour drive. We have moved the freezer items to our chest deep freeze and moved important fresh food items such as medicines to a dorm type fridge we used to keep beverages in. Like I told my wife great we have a three thousand dough Samsung and are maintenance stuff in a ninty-nine dough dorm fridge. What scares me is our other appliances are Samsung. What I have unbendable to do is savings be damned and am mission Lowes to pick up all the appliences and doing like I did at first for appliances and buy from a local apparatus dealer. The other dealer installed the appliances accurately, had a serviceman out immediatey when we did have a conundrum, is ten outline away and know how to stay on-up. Vex and frustation with poorly made and installed appliances are not worth reduction the bucks. As a final on the electronics. We had out house re-wired to curcuit breakers and the TV and surround logic are on the same surf and they are effective fine so I beleive the conundrum lies as with many in poor point and/or manafacture.Know this assess is a modest long but when you are looking at paying three thousand dollars for a fidge that may self destruct in a few weeks you need as much info as doable. If you go ahead wish you the best of luck. We gambled and lost.FOLLOW UP ON SERVICE. The tech at home three days later and my wife called me at work adage he had it fixed and looked-for to talk to me. He claimed the vehicle it was plugged into was not ashore and he had replugged it into a additional that is and it was good to go. He asked me to call him later to crash on the temperatur of the unit. Three hours later is was 61 degrees! Called and reaponse was oh that is what is experience which we had expained numerous times to Lowes, Samsung and his dispatcher not counting the description given to him. Well I will order the parts since Samsung sent me out lacking any parts and be back Friday which was three days later. After I got off teh phone I remembered as mentioned the path he said was not ashore is the one I have my Lead the way Elite Surround plugged into and the Monster surge bodyguard/power conditioner says the path is ashore?I went the next day to Lowes and requested they come get all. The rejoinder was we have a new one in stock now and will excnange if you call Samsung. Thirty outline on the phone with Samsung the next day and yes we can RMA it but it takes 3-5 days to get it genteel. Lowes did get it OKd the next day and delivered it two days later. They still did a bad job of leveling which I corrected the next day ijncluding leveling the doors. The tech called three days later and his note was I have the parts now and can I come by and see if they fix it. This was TEN DAYS after the first conundrum was reported. Way too long when you are manufacture with an apparatus that is suppoused to maintain food not spoil it.The new unit is nosier but works best. So far three weeks it is OK but time will tell. Ice noise and number is still dreary compared to the old GE.Samsung benefit and consumer satisfaction conderns are at best comicial and at mean diasterous. Boy this assess ihas twisted into a novel which if you read I hope you find caring

We recently purchased this Samsung develop (almost 2 weeks ago) and not lacking to jinx whatever thing (knock on wood), it is working flawlessly (aptly currently anyway). The 2 biggest complaints I have is the intolerably loud noise the ice-maker creates when ice is ejected into the bucket. It's flush more frighteningly loud when the ice bucket is empty as the sound amplifies upon depression with the hollow plastic container. I read other reviews commenting on this and thought it was an exaggeration, it's not. Samsung should really consider re-engineering the container by adding some sound deadening material almost it to aid muffle the noise (no problem, it's truly that annoying). The other issue is relatively minor and indicative of all stainless appliances... the never ending battle hostile to finger prints and skin smear with oil smudges. All that aside, the bottom line to any appliance purchase today is akin to betting on roulette and expecting to win (worst odds always). Like many, I did an inordinate amount of product research and read countless customer reviews prior to purchasing. Opinions and experiences are all over the map. And this is a fundamental problem for all brands not just Samsung. As mentioned elsewhere there is much outsourcing going on and it seems almost impossible for manufacturers to attain consistent quality levels. BTW, I was bowled over to learn (after purchasing) this refrigerator is imported starting Korea. I upshot in this up single because it supports many customer complaints concerning long wait times when breakdowns certainly occur. The delays are primarily the upshot of long distance parts delivery. Several service repair companies I contacted are not flush qualified to work on these appliances as Samsung strictly controls the qualification administer along with parts distribution (exporting starting Korea). To be rational, this Samsung replaces a 12-time old Maytag feature by feature (with ice-maker) which I can't commence to relate just how horrible and unreliable a refrigerator can be! It was the first appliance I always bought with an total warranty (reluctantly). It was also the first appliance I certainly recouped my money starting using that warranty (and then some) due to abnormally frequent repairs and parts replacement (in cooperation costly to the indemnity company). What I learned starting this is warranties can be helpful for offsetting high-priced service and food replacement expenditure but doesn't instill customer confidence or improve product reliability... it is what it is. Factor in countless hours due to lost work time; aggravation with incompetent CSR agents; delays and missed appointments with repair ppl and inordinate amounts of atrophied food... you can easily think it over where this is going. So don't detest Samsung just because it's not assembled in North America (who is?) or you think it over customer complaints online. In fact, check any strain and it's pretty much the same for all. CR may rate some models and brands higher but unfortunately (and certainly) they all have issues. There are single a handful of companies (worldwide) making compressors and major gears for refrigerators these days and every manufacturer is buying starting them. So no strain is immune and "variable" quality has been almost for a minute currently. The days of buying a refrigerator (or any major appliance) and expecting it to last for 20 years are long over. And spending more money doesn't aid either. High end brands such as Viking and Secondary-Zero are notoriously sticky and grow flush more unreliable. The bottom line is no matter how much research and regardless what strain you extremely or currently own... you definitely will be rolling the dice and taking a bigger chance than you might expect on your next purchase. The days of "Maytag reliability" are long gone (I can most definitely attest to that). Long term reliability is not the norm, it is an anomaly. Don't expect your next refrigerator to provide more than 7-10 years of consistent reliability (at most). Like other "tech toys" refrigerators have become trendy create statements, several high end models have built in flat tire screens with wi-fi, so don't expect them to last long. In fact, the tech will easily become obsolete long before the warranty ends prompting many to upgrade just to stay current. The preeminent advice I can offer anyone is cover your bets and consider an total warranty and use AmEx or Discover made known (check their respective policies) to extend it another time. Because unlike back in the time, it may not take years to think it over problems develop in extra appliances and 28 cubic feet of food spoils genuine quick and gets genuine high-priced...Update: 07-29-12A brief update: After more than 7 months there is no significant issues to report and that is really saying something these days...The refrigerator continues to operate flawlessly albeit with the following extremely minor issues. Every so often the element makes a slight humming, mechanical or vibrating noise emanating starting the rear. If I give it a slight nudge or push, it stops but returns infrequently. My touch is there may be a lose line inside the back that vibrates in sympathy with the compressor when it kicks on. Subdue its single periodic and not repeatable enough to call made known a tech... yet.Beyond that all areas of the fridge grow to operate naturally maintaining assess temps surrounded by acceptable tolerances. I installed 3 small digital thermometers surrounded by the upper, median and decrease (double entrance fridge, pull-made known drawer & freezer) sections. Depending on time of time and frequency of access, the temps rarely deviate beyond +/- 5 degrees, which is really good especially with the unrelenting summer excitement. Our thrilling utility bills grow slightly higher than last time but the utility's "smart meter" indicates outdoor temps to be almost 2 degrees hotter these past months. Factor in our utilities super high rate pricing or "peak plea" for July & August (thanks SRP) and abnormally higher temps and it's tough to know if the refrigerator's efficiency gains aren't offset by our home's dual AC systems which cycle more frequently this time of time?Lastly, the annoying ice maker continues to do it's part, subdue functioning naturally albeit loudly. We have come to stipulations with it and currently view it as a "feature" enhancement as you permanently know when its working. Guess you can get on to used to whatever thing, all in all no genuine regrets...

Have this fridge for 1.5 yrs, love the size . . . but milk always going sour before the expiry date, cheese molding, leftovers didn't last. Rationalized all these things. 'must be leaving the milk out too long', 'must have dirty kids hands touching the cheese' etc. Because the digital temperature reading said it was 34 deg in the fridge, and it must be accurate, aptly? WRONG! Verification by 3 separate mercury &digital thermometers show that the fridge compartment temp runs 40-50 deg, and that's in winter (wonder how warm it had been running last summer!) This is everywhere in the fridge compartment, top shelf, bottom shelf, door, aptly next to the ice maker, etc. Cannot find anyplace in the fridge that runs less than 40 degrees. In hindsight, no wonder food was spoiling! The fridge programming will not allow the temperature to be set any lower than 34F. Service technician has replaced the main control board and the digital touch screen assembly. Have not resolved the problem. Phoned Samsung customer support and was only told that since the factory warranty is expired they can and will do nothing. The review from J LeRoy is enlightening. Will update if ever fixed. Freezer & flex-drawer hold reasonable to programmed temperature (2-6 degrees above programmed temp).

We be inflicted including had this fridge for about 9 months now. We really weren't shopping for a fridge, but saw this one in the pile and chop in tenderness including it. Our 25 cubic foot side by side worked fair, we just in cooperation hated the side by side - too restricted on what went in the freezer, things got "lost", etc. We looked at this one at several places trying to shape if we should go ahead and pocket the nose-dive. Water supply, Lowe's had a great sale and price, so we went for it. We are so glad. I tenderness this fridge. Really wondered about the ss - not the easiest thing to clean. But, I found "hidden glass" wipes. They work great if you buff including a clean soft cloth after using them. Inside is beautiful - such bright set alight! Shelves are very versitle, kind for parties when you be inflicted including several tall bottles of wine. We tenderness the middle drawer. We use it for different things depending on what we be inflicted including. It has worked perfectly for everything we put in it. The French doors are great. We care for the things we use most on one side, so we permanently know which entrance to open. We are flush being paid ready to sell our old freezer now. We had to be inflicted including it including the side by side, but this freezer is so kind and roomy, we no longer use it. This freezer holds a enormous amount! There are three cons including this fridge. 1. Yes, the ice is noisy when it falls into the catcher, but we really very seldom notice it anymore. The cats used to jump when it would dump but they be inflicted including gotten used to it, too, and it no longer bothers them any. 2. As others be inflicted including said, I also wish there was a way to tress the dividers in the middle drawer. If you don't be inflicted including it satiated, things tend to budge when opening and closing the entrance. 3. Not sure what you call it, but I guess it's the water overflow catcher beneath the water and ice dispenser. It is small and it fills up very quickly and there is no way for the water to evaporate from below the pocket in. Others we be inflicted including had, had holes in them so the water could evaporate easier. This may not bother others, but we use the crushed ice and water all the time, so it often overflows and streaks the fridge. We try to remember to clean the water out every couple of days or so.All that being said, I subdue think this fridge is so far above anything else in this price array. We be inflicted including been married 45 years and be inflicted including lived loads of places and had loads of, loads of fidges - all makes and set-ups. For me, this is the single thing I would ever want again. The french doors and bottom freezer just make so much more sense than anything else (and I used to think a freezer on bottom was stupid). The middle drawer including adjustable temps is so useful. Just wish we had it when the kids were subdue home.To anyone, I would say if you be inflicted including a chance to get this, do it. I can't imagine not having mine.

Samsung refrigerators are designed so that they do not restart on their own after a power outage. Instead, after a power outage of 15 summary or more, they are designed to restore to demo mode. Demo mode is used in the store to demonstrate a refrigerator so it has the lights on, but the compressor not operating/cooling. To restart the refrigerator you must to push certain buttons in a certain sequence. This is a fatal point flaw because you may be on vacation or out of town when the power goes out, and not be there to push the right buttons to have it turn back on. This will ruin all of your food and cause a terrible stink in your home. I have been told of this "point figure" by both the Samsung customer hotline and by the Office of the President of Samsung in North America. They say there is nothing wrong with my refrigerator as it is "operating per its point". I'm sure that none of you want a refrigerator that cannot be relied upon to come back on following a power outage. Please get the word out to all that you know of this fatal flaw. If Samsung can't sell these flawed refrigerators, they will get things changed.

We purchased this refrigerator in this vicinity 3 months earlier cycle. I must initially say I love the top of the refrigerator. The drawer is a fantastic top element, though, as many others be inflicted including understood, it doesn't pull made known far away enough and the glides don't pause in house. I concur including all of the additional raters in this vicinity the icemaker. As others be inflicted including prominent, the signal of the hoarfrost dropping into the tank is so loud that I can pocket reflect it over of it upstairs in my bedroom. It's in detail startled me on numerous occasions. A further conundrum I noticed is that the stainless steel is exceptionally gentle. The slightest blow or tap causes visible denting. We by currently be inflicted including two tear up-sized dents on the doors. Having to be in this planet including these pro the at that calculate 10 being is grating, especially if you're above all concerned in this vicinity the advent of your appliances.Keep pro my chief frustration to-date has to do including the refrigerator contravention not working only including 3 months. Initially I noticed that approximately of the food bits and pieces in the rear of the refrigeration part were freezing, at that calculate the refrigerator stopped cooling completely. Needless to say--I'm frustrated. I would estimate best feature, agreed the price. It's been a week since I called pro benefit and my refrigerator soothe isn't working.

I chop in love including the top of this fastidious refrigerator. Loved it all - the bend drawer, the lighting, the flexible shelves, and that. Not anything else may maybe compare. I read approximately of the terrible reviews, keep pro noticed all of the skilled as water supply and went so far to be and purchased it. That was a cut-rate amount of than 90 income earlier cycle.Woke up this daylight to a lukewarm fridge and lukewarm freezer. The bend drawer appears to soothe be cool. Repairman thinks it force be the foremost electrical infiltrate. So...we be inflicted including to wait a further 5-6 income pro the part to recommend itself in. He's seen them go made known in as only only any as two weeks. Unbelievable. We had our additional "midpoint of the path" fridge pro 10 being including no issues. I am apprehensive in this vicinity the at that calculate infiltrate inane made known as water supply.Read all of the reviews and approve of attentively. One continue annotation - get on to the superfluous warranty. That is what is casing the cost of all of our disfigured food.

So far the fridge facility well, has tons of capacity, bendable shelving systems. This unit is a tad shorter than others in this size class. It needs only 68.5" of clearance for the portion of the unit in the rear the hinges. There is a plastic cord holder/dust take in on the back left top of the ice box. This was a take in for a lower-level area that looks like where the fill up connects to the ice maker. I had to take out it to fit under the 68.5" face form I had. This leaves about 1/4" top clearance at the face form of the upper cabinet (of way 2" privileged than top when you get past the face form). I did take in the lower-level area with packing tape to keep dust out.The upset screen is a modest fussy about where you upset. To switch ice types or turn ice off, you in fact don't upset the screen very the top bent area of the ice/fill up portal - not very clear in manual, luckily there one one obscure picture that showed the assess spot. The midpoint "flex" drawer looks very gifted. Will update this over time.Update: 06/17/10I did see a best picture about turning ice off - best that my initial review. Ice maker has a to some extent different and slightly louder "ice drop" sound. The ice building frequency could be faster, but only time will tell if it keeps up with summer plea. I did have to nip the alignment of the upper doors - could not be simpler!!!

My wife and I bought this fridge three months ago and be inflicted with been extremely happy. Installation was faultless, and it has been effective be fond of a champ!Pros: + Large: plenty of room inside pro all we need to pile + Flexible: the shelf layout has been great. We keep lone of the shelves folded up pro tall bits and pieces most of the time. Large door shelves also aid. + Drawer is great! The deli drawer was never lofty enough in my ancient fridge. Plenty of room in the drawer. Also GREAT to door drawer lacking notch doors. + No full width drawers in fridge: Sounds be fond of a halfhearted, save pro in fact a positive. As I go to the fridge I want to commence the door with lone hand and get my piece with the additional. With release half width drawers I can do this (not true in additional french door fridges). + Easy to door Water & Ice: The light also turns on as you get accurate to the handle. On my ancient fridge you had to curve on the light unconnectedly (not skilled).Cons: - Tenderness the drawer, save pro wish it pulled out a modest additional. Bits and pieces in the in trade are enclosed by the high doors. Still can get them, save pro no mind not to be inflicted with full extension slides. - As others be inflicted with understood, Ice reducing is primarily loud. If not, fridge is nice and calm down. - Be fond of every additional fridge I be inflicted with owned, the water comes out with a ration of force. The tiny stream comes out so fast, it sprays water off the ice with accurate to the top. Why not put on a aerator be fond of a faucet? May possibly still be inflicted with skilled flood lacking the water jet.Overall extremely happy with the hold. Cannot overstate how nice the drawer is. Would not be inflicted with gotten a french door style fridge lacking it. Also extremely happy it is a fridge drawer and not a freezer drawer. put on't admit in this vicinity you, save pro I get equipment out of the fridge a ration extra than the freezer.Be guaranteed to check the size versus your ancient fridge. This element is lofty! Constant width and height as my ancient fridge, save pro in this vicinity 2-3 inches deeper. Fortunate I had room, save pro may possibly see where with the intention of may possibly be a conundrum it interval was forceful.Three months in, so cannot comment on reliability, save pro in suspense pro the best.

A little more than a month ago we bought a new Samsung RF4287HARS refrigerator. It is Samsung's top of the line model. It has many wonderful features. We love the center drawer including flex temperature control; the style, look and believe are great; the lighting inside is even better than anything else we saw. There was only one problem: It didn't work. After a couple weeks the fridge just bunged cooling - the ice melted and drained water all over our stump, much to the chagrin of our dog who was sleeping nearby; the freezer defrosted, meaning it was steak night (including in cooperation corn and beans - hurray); the entire interior went to over 45 degrees according to our handy cool thermometer. It just wasn't running. We had renovate people come out twice, the second time they said it could not be fixed.OK, that happens. Sears resolute to replace the element including a brand new one. Three cheers for Sears! The second new element was installed and within a couple weeks we had the exact same problem. Warm soda and a wet dog - but hey, steak for feast again. The service people came out and said it was a bad sensor. OK, that happens. So they replaced the sensor a week or so later (they had to order the parts, but the good news is that it is now cold outside, so at least we had cold food for a while). After replacing the sensor it worked great for nearly a few days and then had the exact same problem again! By this point we have run out of frozen steak (and just about everything else), although our dog has never smelled better. But in trade came the renovate people - this time the diagnosis is a bad mother board (although having watched several renovate people work on this model it becomes increasingly clear that they do not really know what's wrong; at best, they are guessing). We are now faced including the question of what to do next. Option 1: replace the second element including a third new version of this model, and hope that the third time is the charm. My concern is that, as Einstein said, insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over and in the family way different results. Option 2: replace the second element including a model from a different manufacturer. But here is a small problem - we looked at other units and found that the GE Profile models had many similar features and force make a good replacement for the Samsung version. But as we looked closer today we noticed that the one drawer GE was a little too similar to the one drawer and two drawer Samsung. If you look at them side by side you will notice that they are so similar that it appears they are in fact made including identical parts. In an era where outsourced and contract manufacturing is common in many industries, this raises the concern that even the GE models would have the same problems as they may be made in the same factory including the same parts, leading to the same defects or issues. For those of you keeping score, that is: Samsung refrigerators 2, Cold Food Zero, Steak Dinners 2, Wet Dogs 3, and disfigured food more than $300.So in short, Samsung has included many great features in this element. They only thing it seems to be lacking is aloofness.
