GE CYE23TSDSS Cafe 23.1 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator - Energy Star Customer Reviews

We sought after a cabinet deepness refrigerator as we don't like our fridge sticking out too far from the cabinets. We had a GE former to this one and I swore I would by no means buy a additional GE refrigerator over again. It was in this area 10 being old and was their top of the line cabinet deepness back then. Be grateful goodness for total warranty as we had copious calls on it which sorry to say frenziedly with when we had to pay in this area a additional $400 to keep it in succession. Ferraris have this sort of maintenance desires, not GE appliances....I was looking at Samsung and LG options and was sold on inane that send when my wife establish this develop online. I was not detective novel in this area it, but unbendable to look at it in view of the fact that she liked the looks and facial appearance. A community generous box home apparatus peddler said they may maybe get it for me and the fee was aptly - with their 5 year total warranty - so I went yet to be with it.So far it has been a very nice refrigerator. I actually like the LED lighting. It actually illumination up the interior so much best than the old bright bulbs of the past. And it gives it a rich look. The LCD panel on the adjoin is an arresting map and does equipment like tell you how much fill up you're as long as in ounces. Very nice, for develop, if you want need 8 ounces of fill up. It counts it off for you. It also has a neat full of life shared class when in use. Just a nice top that makes it feel "rich" lacking life gimmicky. The hot fill up top is a very only one of its kind map I have not seen on any additional refrigerator. It is good for tea, soups, etc. It takes numerous outline to warm up, as you may estimate, but is more well-located that boiling fill up on the oven. So far we've only used it a few era, but I can see everywhere this would be a clever map once you dredge up you in fact have it.It runs calm down and efficiently. The ice maker facility very well. It took in this area 8 to 12 hours before to ANY ice was made so don't be alarmed if you don't see any ice building try for the at the initiation 6 or 8 hours. I was equipped to call benefit on this but it must take time for it to get ongoing. (Yes, I know ice doesn't freeze aptly away.... It just seemed to be a long time in anticipation of ANY was made.)The freezer has manifold levels and 2 pull out drawers, so organizing your food must be easy. Inane from a side-by-side to this will take some being paid used to, but we don't have a ton of freezer material and we have a following refrigerator in the garage everywhere we keep bits and pieces less evenly used, so ours is soothe frequently void. You will have to reconcile this based on your own lifestyle. The "fun" map is the cleverness to use the LCD panel as an electronic depiction form. I am a doohickey self so I tried this out. Here is a USB port below a rubber take in everywhere the ice/fill up give out. THIS IS NOT well-celebrated in the blue-collar so I had to find it on my own. It at once recognizable the USB handbook and uploaded the cinema. Note, it only does a full overwrite of what is on here, so you can't austerely add or rub out cinema. Load your cinema on a USB handbook, plug it in, and it austerely replaces all on the fridge with what is on your handbook. When you use the panel for fill up or ice, it will then sight your cinema for some cycle of time as a slide show(not sure how long - 10 outline maybe?) Sorry to say GE engineers don't allocate any customization of this map. It's just an upload and sight item; you can't chat no matter what business in this area how they sight. Here is NO citations in the blue-collar that I may maybe find so if you like this map you will have to sort this out on your own. (See my comeback not more than with a more meticulous description of this process!)By and large our at the initiation month has gone well. The pile explained that the manufacture of GE refrigerators has stirred from Mexico back to the US and they've seen an boost up in feature. (I did look and my old GE was made in Mexico and this one is made at Apparatus Park in Kentucky.) So will see how that the the boards out long term. Agreed the Cafe line is held to be their best, I anticipate much best benefit than the Artica develop I had before to.

The guy who installed it warned me and he was right. GE products are low-cost but you pay for it down the road with GE's notoriously poor customer benefit and low quality assurance. I had this refrigerator for a year and the compressor went out. GE keeps sending me wrong parts and refuses to go ahead and pay for labor although it is under the warranty. What a headache.

We actually enjoy the refrigerator, it is all with the intention of was advertised. However, we were disappointed in the shipping, description said with the intention of shipping companionship would take out and house refrigerator in opportunity of our choice & take away packing equipment. Driver & helper did uncrate and put fridge in kitchen but refused to take the packing equipment away. He said, "you have to keep packing so if refrigerator breaks not effective, you can hurl it in trade." I told him, I wasn't worried about with the intention of but he still refused to take equipment. Trying to boost his top, he claimed with the intention of only the last month they had to restore a refrigerator becauset the compressor went out. One time ago, I ruined my in trade and my hip is worn out, I can single only move shipping pen, now I have to make preparations to get rid of packing equipment. Having all full care of was section of our decision to buy from Amazon, but it didn't take house.

Bought this a month ago as the kitchen renovation was complete. Did extensive research on competing models and brands. We looked at ALL models that were: french-door, counter-depth, single freezer drawer, with thru-the-door ice cube, crushed ice, and water point. This develop nails all of those requirements and bested what few competitors there were, typically one competitor from all manufacturer. Initially, the refrigerator looks fantastic. Great fit and finish, LCD display and hegemony organization. Second, the ice maker and water point is in the door! Don't underestimate this feature. Before side-by-side models always had problems with the icemaker and water point because there was a physical tie between the door and the ice/water maker in the body of the refrigerator that would get separated each calculate the door was opened. The door is thick, but it contains the water filter easy to pop out), the ice maker, the food processor (for crushed ice), and the ice storage. Incredibly convenient and easy to use/maintain. Also, the angle on the water point is just right, no splashes and plenty of opportunity for large cups /bottles. Third, the lighting on the interior of this develop vastly outperforms its competitors. Importantly, the LED lighting basically shines from the external edge of the interior inward, as opposed to downward from the top of the interior (be fond of loads of competitors). This configuration ensures each shelf is equally lit, and big items don't preclude decrease shelves from being lit. Fourth, the compressor almost never runs and as it does, it is whisper calm down. Fifth, love is consistent between domestic compartments and door compartment, which are large sufficient to store 1 gallon of milk / 2 liters of beverage + bonus stuff. This is greatly valued. Finally, the hot water feature is helpful for teh erratic quick cup of tea. Does 10oz of hot water (at user specified love) at a calculate, with a excitement calculate of about 2 summary. I maintain this is the best counter-depth, french door, single-freezer drawer, thru-the-door ice/water refrigerator there is. Not cheap, but worth each penny.

I have had this fridge for just over 3 months and bought it since I have actually like my GE Cafe gas oven. Here are things I love about this fridge and things that are disappointing.First what I love…The hot fill up top, it's positively instant and gives me the temp I need. I thought it was silly at first, but am amazed by how often I use it and have come to love it.The cold fill up and ice top, I love that it events the fill up for you, the fill up is COLD, unlike my last in the door fill up fridge. The ice functions are splendid, crushed is crushed, cubed is cubed, cubes are a standard size, pretty honest forwards. The digital depiction gathering, I love it, and will announce that I thought at first it was a modest ludicrous and heavy-handedness for a map. BUT now that I have had it and used it for a bit, I love having the pics on the fridge without cluttering up the front of it.Deli drawer, I love the fact that it is so wide and has a wide array of choices for temp setting. Easily this is one of my pet features.Door alarm may save us millions in atrophied power. Now for the disappointments…The freezer, its drawer does not pull out nearly far enough, you have to have both of the fridge doors also open to get into it. Also, it has a tip out shelf against the front of the drawer that you virtually have to do a handstand to see into. Even the tip out map does not help. The two smaller drawers surrounded by the freezer are ok, but over again hard to get into without notch the total fridge up to get into.Interior space, UGH, the veggie and fruit drawers are tiny, not nearly enough space for even valuable salad makings. Since the ice maker is on the surrounded by of the front door, the shelves are not nearly deep enough. This fridge has the same useful cubic measurement of my old side by side, but you would by no means know it. The shelves on the door that holds the ice maker are intolerably shallow, fine if you use microscopic tiny containers of condiments, but anyone else will likely be disappointed. In outline. The lighting is splendid, the further than top is splendid, I have had no issues with blast as mentioned in some of the other reviews, I love the way it looks and much to my bolt from the blue, I love the hot fill up and digital form features. The Deli drawer is the best. BUT the draw backs are pretty valuable to me, space and access to the freezer. The extra features are splendid, but I would probably not buy this model over again since of the size issues and like I said it is supposedly the same size as my last fridge, but the set up makes it seem smaller and less reachable.Sorry to say, the things I don't like are things I didn't notice in anticipation of with I had lived with it…

Bought a household to the top with GE Monogram appliances (Oven, Dual Ovens, Dishwasher) but sans fridge. Did some investigating and the GE Cafe handles are almost like peas in a pod to persons of the Monogram (apart from the area the handle mounts in is abstractedly rounded as different to the Monogram's hard edges).Bought it here on Amazon... and while Amazon will tell you one shipping date, it's ill-treat. You need to wait for HCCost to supporter you with a dialogue box. While the style of language wasn't as fast as I would hope, it was being paid frustrating with this fridge out of have a give of in Las Vegas, not to bring up this Amazon deal was factually $300 cheaper than the next-door competitor. When it everlastingly arrived, they unboxed it and slid it to the notch in my cabinets. I took it from there ($100 bed in fee for one stinkin' $8 tube? No thankfulness). Installation was self-explanatory.The fridge I expected was free from defects on the outside. The surrounded by lip of the fridge seems to have some inscription on it, but not anything I'm sure a key eraser can't fix. They pack the fridge for the catastrophe so set up your sheath about an hour to take out all the extra tape and fake wrap they have in there. For a counteract-deepness fridge, this chump can fit a lot of food. First test was an entire Prayer Buffet with a failure and a ham and a ton of extras. All fit nicely. The underside pull-out rack can have it's warmth altered (with some cool lighting equipment) and is perfect for decent cans of soda. (I have fit 30 cans. ample for 5 rows, 4+2 in each row)The fridge is pretty calm down (I thought it was loud for a second, but then I realized I factually had no fridge there for 3 weeks... whatever business is loud.)The cover on the front is pretty cook. I have seen some broadcast adage the austere fill doesn't work, they are ill-treat. It does. When you pour fill up it will watch out how many ounces you are as long as (it is time-based and isn't an real methodical measurement). That'll fill up all day long. "Austere fill", you point out how many ounces you need, and it will dispense it and auto-stop. The heated fill up, nice feature. Will we use it with a Keurig? Probably not. Place of safeguard't used the digital depiction form choice yet but it is on my list. All and all, it's a splendid fridge, at a splendid fee, that takes a good deal of time to get to you with the Amazon choice. And it is now completely manufactured in the USA... so if you had a bad experience with a GE manufactured goods made everyplace else, give this one a shot. Perfectly uncommon ballgame.

We really like our GE Cafe. I love that it's counteract depth, for genuine. I know, it is smaller inside like any counteract depth fridge, and that stinks, but I really don't like how a stainless steel machine comes out into the room (why don't the counters occur out further???) So it's features are great. The hot water takes a little while to excitement and is limited to 10oz, but it works for us. I like that the ice dispenser is low so our young children can aid themselves to ice and water. (the hot water feature is well locked and very unlikely our kids would ever figure out how to access it, and I've told them not to touch the nob). The inside lights are really nice too. The shelves make sense and are functional for our wants. I would also say it's a little on the noisier side, approximately times. We have hardwood floors and open concept space so it's easier to notice. And I'm really insightful to signal, so the average person probably wouldn't notice it. Our GE dish washers is much louder. It also doesn't make a ton of ice so for parties we'll likely have to get a bag, but we did that with our old LG any way. Compared to the LG, I feel the interior shelves, etc are a higher quality. Our LG had pieces of fake breaking/splitting all the time. I also LOVE that this fridge is made in Kentucky-- that was a big deciding thing for us. Consent to's keep America employed and keep our dollars at this time! Just for that reason, I bumped it up for 4 stars to 5. Overall, very pleased with the fridge and we did so much shopping around.

If you like the sound of a jet compelling off or lawn mower....this product is for you. This thing is very very noisy. Google it.The precision fill is also a worthless feature. If you are like me, I planning I could set the amount of fluids and let it fill while I do other equipment. Nope it just counts it out for you while you wait. What is the point???The heated water....you can use a microwave in half the time.

Well, I've only had the fridge for 1 day, and here's my list of complaints so far. Equipment aren't looking good for this fridge. I've by no means hated a in tears so quickly.A lot of broadcast complained about the blast... I didn't think much of it when reading the reviews, but now I discontent that I must have. Others have said this by now: that it's normal, that it sounds uncommon because of the variable-speed compressor. Even if, there's no defense for it to be so loud.I mean, broadcast stress over 1 or 2 dB of difference in dishwasher blast. (I in person think that's asinine.) But, the point is, you can get the loudest dishwasher on the earth and it would be quieter than this fridge. If you get this fridge, don't stress over how loud your dishwasher force be. This fridge is loud, and it runs pretty much constantly, so it'll drown out any blast in your kitchen. Also value mentioning is that the hot fill up point is blistering at best. I've tried to make hot fill up 3 times, and 2 out of the 3 times, the fridge comes back with the dreaded "Hot Fill up Disabled" miscalculation idea. Google this; others have had this conundrum. So I have to go to the panel and logic the path surf to get hot fill up to work. The stainless steel is also reasonably cheap for a Cafe--it's a in tears I'd estimate on the road GE. It's the thin, shiny, with lots of coarse grain, not anything like more polished SS found in higher-end appliances. And, just after one day, the take in on the in tears panel for the warmth-drawer bin has by now ongoing coming off off.

This is a awe-inspiring fridge that is now made in the US and on the chief edge with its hot fill up options. I fervently promote you to rate the needed interval in view of the fact that the deactivate deepness fits much best in grown-up homes that do not have generous cutouts for the fridge. The interactive sight is splendid as a hegemony crucial top and you can upload cinema for a on-plea slideshow. The LED lighting and generous bins grant bounty of storage space and is a nice chat from the habitual side by side complex. I priced this out at numerous home enhancement equipment and even with the shipping from purchasing at Amazon I saved ~$350. This is a splendid manufactured goods.
