I like this refrigerator a lot. Even if, if I had read about it more closely, I would have realized that it does not have an ice maker or a fill up filter. I ended up buying a separate ice maker which didn't cost a lot, but I had to pay a plumber to install it. The freezer isn't that big, but it works for us. And, the only other complaint I have is that the refrigerator really needs an additional door screened-off area (there is interval, but not enough compartments).

Beware of be deficient in of replacement parts. Amana stops making replacement parts 5 years with the model comes made known. Parts (shelves, drawers, etc) are impossible to obtain, thus making large sections of the refrigerator obsolete before its time. Would never buy another Amana product.

I replaced a thermador with this. I am pleased so far, no problems, wish it was easier to balance the door as it tends to want to swing open and it is hard to get under to balance it right, only reason not a 5

Dreadful refrigerator. Even the renovate guys understood they be inflicted with had problems with it, we are on a first first name foothold. It makes an pun signal on and off. I would never approve of a additional Amanda. Also, do not approve of any refrigerator with the intention of you be inflicted with to commence the door to get water out of.

Our son's 5 yr. old GE Profile ref. started to cool intermittently and instead of calling a tech (no extended warranty - would be inflicted including cost a minimum of $300), it was time for a substitution. Disparate the before models (using components made in the USA) the current community brands (Amana, Maytag, GE, Whirlpool etc...) are closely related and most are using Tecumseh compressors made in Brazil. Used Consumer Intelligence ratings and zeroed in on the Amana (rated the highest bottom-freezer ref. collectively including Whirlpool Gold). Was going to get it from Amazon but the community Home Depot had a better price w/ free delivery and haul-a-way of the old ref. The element was perfectly brand new and the delivery personel were water supply-informed, efficient and courteous. The compartments are spacious, especially the bottom freezer. Did'nt get an ice-maker consequently no water line looked-for. We did get the extended 5 yr. warranty which costs a mere $25/yr. Figured that $300/yr. to care for food original is worth the forecasted lifespan of these "Made in USA" refs using parts from all over the world. To get one that will last 10 yrs. or more w/out headaches, you gotta pay for it (Sub-Zero, Miele, Gaggenau etc....) and these are 4 or 5x's the cost. Time will tell how this Amana will fare out. BTW, we be fond of the domestic plastics better than Samsung or LG.

Same assess as posted for white fridge:I had an Amana for over 20 years with no harms but it was very rusty and dirty so I decidedto exchange. The fake piece between the bins broke and the substitution went also.In modest under 2 years I went to unplug to clean bottom and in the rear the fridge and the thermostat went at once.Between coming up for the renovate guy and now a substitution part it is going on two weeks and I have had to discardfood. I would urge unplugging the refrigerator while the warranty isin look to see if you too see a correlation between thatand the demise of the thermostat! I have been led to judge that appliances donot last long (under 5 years?) due to the automated energy-well-methodical "gadgets" that are now used.I think there is also built-in obsolescence. Good luck with your appliances.Just to add: The freezer underneath fills with water as the water is not draining by the book (drain-pipe iced?)and then the water freezes and eventually starts to flow over onto my kitchen floor. From what I have researched - I candefrost or use a hairdryer on the drain or pour hot water down. I chop away at the ice periodically. What a nightmare this fridge is.

Had shopped almost community retailers and viewed on outline loads of makes and models. did a allocation of investigate reviewing reviews. certain brands in some sizes had issues including a large diversity of problems. my goal was to discover the most excellent product at the most excellent fee. call for a reversible entrance or lone including the intention of swings early left to aptly. sought after a freezer drawer not entrance. the entrance category are roomier in the freezer screened-bitter area keep for not my perception of enjoyable to sit down on the floor and dig almost in a influence made known bin I establish it a piece to tiresome to maneuver. a modest disappointed including the intention of it did not recommend itself including an ice maker. keep for it was easy to bed in. unit is ice maker equipped. had not really charming on being compensated the stainless steel develop keep for it was not outrageous so I splurged the superfluous $100. extremely fortunate including purchase and glad I took the calculate to investigate.

Edit:We have had this refrigerator for two years now, and I feel compelled to edit my first review and lower my rating. There is definitely a conundrum with the freezer drain icing up and blocking. This caused ice to build up in the underneath of the freezer, and once that area was full, fill up on my stump. At first we planning it was our flaw. We indifferent the ice, unplugged the drain and re-leveled. It took awhile, but it happened over again. It is very difficult to take it all apart to take out the ice and unplug the drain, so we looked online for a more permanent fix. Establish some advice online to run a piece of copper from the heating coil through the drain to keep this from happening. We plan to try this.First Review :Very happy with this refrigerator. We had only 30" of space, wanted the freezer on the underneath, and wanted black sides. Stainless ranges and microhoods are stainless and black, so why are so many machine companies building stainless refrigerators with grey sides? Not a conundrum if the sides don't show, but a big conundrum if they do!I do think it must come with one more door bin, which we just refined up ordering unconnectedly. It comes with the following storage space pieces for inside of the door: 1 full-width bin, 3 half-width bins, and 1 half-width bin with a clear swivel take in. We approved an bonus half-width bin.
