Silhouette Select Built-In Under Counter Ice Maker User Reviews

What a complete waste of money! I have had the renovate man out 3 times in the first 2 years. Now it is a boat attach that the warranty run out on. I cant say enough bad about this apparatus. Complete junk!

affect with others. just plugged it in last night. The education manual is 2nd grade. misspelled terms and the icon to select "size of cube" in fact says, "Amount of Ice" and depiction show a half void pail...called customer benefit and they set me honest on what the choice were for (size of cubes). nit hard to delight I know, but poor manuals tells you a in tears in this area the manufactured goods. I also constantly hear the business in succession (loud), the cubes are "wet", and you have to smash the sheets of ice. I called customer benefit and he said just use the news story to smash the ice. actually, I paid almost $1,000 for this and a low-cost refrigerator can make break ice cubes and this business can't?from the bottom of your heart, don't dissipate your cash, go everyplace else.

I purchased this hoarfrost maker and as it at home we plugged it in and it was exhausted Danby told me to encourage a benefit tech, he understood element was unrepairable. Danby sent me a extra element Element #2 at home and we plugged it in and it owing to noises and at that calculate died. Called Danby again benefit tech understood its exhausted leak in compressor . Called cool they sent element #3, no kidding. Element 3 gets delivered and doesn't even initiation up. Poor benefit tech comes made known again and says element is exhausted broken compressor. He at that calculate tells me these units are a dissipate of time items and poorly owing to. I encourage Danby and they yield me a full refund. Currently I be inflicted including 3 hoarfrost makers in my garage including the intention of I be inflicted including to get on to divest of. I at that calculate purchased a Kitchen Boost hoarfrost maker and it facility great...plenty of hoarfrost. You get on to what you bombard out pro. STAY AWAY early this hoarfrost maker.

Everywhere to begin. 1) It is incredibly loud - a name in the at that calculate opportunity planning it was a lawn mower from further than in check over of the fact that the window was commence. 2) It leaks the planet ended if the potential goes out and at that calculate comes in trade on. For develop, the potential went out one day so we dumped the ice bin to get on to sure not anything leaked. The potential went in trade on and fill up ongoing leaking the planet ended - this happened double so far, in cooperation era our potential went out all owing to this storm calculate of year. At this top I do not believe comfortable having the element on if nameless is home. 3) The element does not keep the ice coolness sufficient so it melts extremely promptly and is running constantly to breed extra ice (conundrum in check over of the fact that it is so loud - you do not aspire to be in the constant opportunity as this business as it is generating - louder than our jabber disposal). The ice lays here in big sheets that you have to break up with the scooper. Not the end of the planet but solely an eye rolling cut of icing on the cake. The pros are that it is arresting looking in my kitchen and I infer it does get on to ice, so that is a plus?

I purchased this ice maker idea it would work fine in our bar. The price was so much cheaper than others that we were looking at and I actually didnt want to spend a lot on this apparatus. But now Im kicking for myself. This may be a $1000 waste except I can unload it on Craigslist. In my case, I just dont think I can live with it. If you are putting this in a garage or cut off closet it will doubtless gathering okay. It makes ice fine. Here are my issues with it:1. Even if the cube size is just right for me, one in three sheets do not break apart. Consequently, every time you reach in for ice you will be vital to stab the sheets with the scooper to break them up. Not a huge deal, but actually grating after a while. The solid sheets are everlastingly on top since they dont fall as far. Again, "every" time you reach in.2. It runs constantly. Since it is not as like a log insulated, the ice melts away faster importance more run time, more water. It runs constantly right through the day.3. My chief gripe and the wits we cant live with this, is it is LOUD! it is louder than our dishwasher by far. We have this unit in our bar, built in under the deactivate. But Im divulging you it is very loud! Since the ice melts promptly you constantly hear the water spraying surrounded by to fill the tank. Then the water trickles over the metal plate and drips back into the tank as its building cubes. loud loud loud. like an open-air water fountain. Again, infer your dishwasher in succession with the kitchen sink spraying constantly, then you'll get the idea. Now and again its best to pay up a bit and in this case I think it would have been a MUCH wiser declaration for us. If you plan on putting this unit surrounded by your house, I fervently urge you look everyplace else.

I purchased 2 of the ice machines for my lake household. They were installed the end of May. One apparatus worked for approximately one month and then began periodic and miscalculation code.We spent the next 2 months coming up for parts. Surrounded by 2 weeks of the repair it bunged effective over again. The other apparatus was installed in our upstairs kitchen. Danby does not release the fact that if there is a power rush the pump will shut off. The unit must then be pulled out of the cabinet and manually reset the pump or it will not gathering. Our band new baffle has been absolutely damaged. Danby told us to turn it in to our indemnity company.

All the before reviews are tinge on. This manufactured goods is inefficient. The ice melts at a rapid rate, so the machine is almost always running and using water. Compounding the detail that it always runs, as it does run, it is extremely LOUD! It is very annoying in a big commence kitchen/dining vicinity/living opportunity. We thought we may have a faulty piece, but the tech understood this was the way it was designed and it was working properly. Stay gone from this manufactured goods as it is a complete piece of a waste of time items and waste of money!!!

All I can say is - Exceptionally satisfied with the ice it makes. This unit would be exact for a garage but not for a kitchen area. It makes a loud nose that is too awful for terms when it is big. The blast wakes us up at night. We can hear it in our bedroom, bathroom, basement, upstairs, garage - the planet over! Beyond doubt have the drain line hooked up so that it drains. Manual says it is optional. No, not actually. The cubes will be wet. It is not a freezer, and it is not calculated to make ice and then keep the ice frozen--the ice will melt, and then the unit will make more ice. I wish our 'salesman' had explained more to me in this area it and I am usually a well-knowledgeable consumer, but I was NOT on this one. It was a 'hassled' hold due to my partner's knee surgery and we needed ice in bulk. I would not hold this strain/develop over again.

This is a very low feature ice maker. It is a exact waste of money, time and try. The ice is very wet since it never seems to get cold ample. It doesn't break apart into real cubes, it just drops sheets of ice and you have to break it apart physically. It is exceptionally LOUD. Once it is full of wet half melted ice, the love just shuts off and all of it melts. Then you are left with a big tub of water that you have to lift out and dump. I returned the first one I had idea it was a lemon, but the following one did the same thing. I am now upgrading to a uncommon brand. There is a wits that this is half the price of most ice makers, delight don't waste your time.
